In his music, Roberto Gerhard, a Catalan composer of Swiss descent living in exile in England, confronted compositional problems in a highly personal way. His first symphony opened the way for the composer, who had fled into exile before the Spanish Civil War, from neoclassicism to musical freedom.
With his gravity-inspired orchestral work InFALL, the Spanish composer Hèctor Parra paints a cosmological vision of human existence, which crystallizes in the awareness of the inevitable fate leading to death.
The impact and its resonance form the starting point for the new work for orchestra by the young Swiss composer Kevin Juillerat, who plays with timbres, contrasts and movements.
